More about this
This award-winning cheese selection box includes:
Killeen Goats’ Gouda. Pasteurised goats’ milk. 200g.
Leaving Holland in search of the Irish ‘good-life’, Marion Roeleveld developed this goats’ milk Gouda with milk given by her own goats. Killeen is aged in-house by The Courtyard Dairy for 11 months; the cheese develops a greater depth of flavour as the sweetness and toasty-roasted hazelnut flavours show through.
It has won more awards than you can shake a stick at, including Best Irish Cheese and Best Goats’ Cheese (British Cheese Awards) and Supreme Champion Cheese (Irish Cheese Awards).
Tunworth. Pasteurised cows’ milk. 250g.
An English Camembert good enough to make a Frenchman weep: vegetal, porcini-flavoured and intense. The Courtyard Dairy select only particular Tunworths that are more wrinkled, for a more intense flavour.
Winner: Supreme Champion (British Cheese Awards 2013 & 2006).
Old Winchester. Pasteurised cows’ milk, vegetarian. 250g.
Needing an outlet for their milk, Mike and Judie developed Old Winchester. This Gouda-style cheese, aged for 18 months, is caramelised, smoky and with crystalline crunches.
Winner: Best Modern British Cheese (British Cheese Awards 2007).
Leeds Blue. Pasteurised sheep’s’ milk. 250g.
Mario Olianas moved to Yorkshire from Italy in 2001. Hailing from a family of budding Italian gourmets and cheese-makers, Mario uses sheep’s milk from Harrogate to create this smooth, rich and creamy Leeds Blue in an Italian style.
Winner at Artisan Cheese Awards.
All the cheeses in this selection box have also been previous award- and medal-winning cheeses at The British Cheese Awards, World Cheese Awards and International Cheese Awards.
This product will have two weeks’ shelf life from the date of delivery. Conveniently, at checkout you can choose a delivery date even well in the future if you would like your cheese delivering for a specific event.
In the current pandemic not all our suppliers are able to supply us as consistently as they were.
What this means is that occasionally we may give you a substitute in some cheese selections. This will always be a carefully-selected similar cheese of equal or greater value.
If you do not want us to supply a suitable substitute in this way, state in the ‘special instructions’ at checkout: “No replacements”, in which case we may have to phone you if there is an issue.
