Exploring the real detail of cheese with some truly special examples.
You’ll see just how even slight variances in maturation and seasonality can really transform the outcome of the same cheese in this lateral tasting.

Join Andy of The Courtyard Dairy at 7pm on Friday 10th June as he guides you through a unique tasting of eight exclusive pieces of cheese showcasing the diversity of farm-cheesemaking and how small factors can alter the end result of the cheese flavour and texture.  You’ll taste two batches of four cheeses, each made exactly the same way but matured differently: Kirkham’s Lancashire at 3 months, and 6 months old – showcasing the difference maturity can make; Hebden Goat ‘aged’ for twice it’s normal age; two very contrasting batches of St James and finally 2 batches of Hafod Cheddar both made within the same fortnight that really highlights how pasture and cheesemaking can alter the end outcome.

This is a one-off special event.  The session lasts one hour and includes eight 80g portions of cheese – that’s enough for two-four people to enjoy the tasting.  The ‘Cheese & wine’ option also includes two half bottles of wine – a red and a white, matched to your cheese.

Includes delivery to a mainland UK address.
