Made using grapes from one small vineyard, Vale D. Maria, this is a classic vintage port from a couple of experienced vine growers and port makers who decided to set up on their own,
Perfect with strong, hard cheeses such as Cheddar, Gouda and Gruyère, and blue cheeses.

A previous manager of the famous port producer Quinta do Noval, Cristiano van Zeller left to purchase his own vineyards and started to make his own port in 1996. The vineyard, named Quinta Vale D. Maria is 15 hectares of vines in the Rio Torto valley, with a south-south-east exposure and raggedy old vines (25-60 years old) which produce a wine with complexity, good depth and structure.
Still made in traditional ways and trodden by foot in granite lagares, this is a traditional vintage port made from top quality grapes by Cristiano, his daughter Francisca and the family company of their cousins Martim and António Guedes with whom they merged in 2017.
